SYNOPSIS |

In July 1948, sixteen-year-old Alemina is forced to abandon her home and move to Salento, in Southern Italy. There, she meets her eccentric grandfather for the first time, discovers the well-hidden secrets of the Condoti family and falls in love with a sculptor.

In the same area, a man is committing vile murders, killing Nazi collaborators in the most violent way. For each victim, he makes a wooden doll without limbs, in which, according to Japanese legend, remains the soul of the one who passes. Their apparently separate routes will ultimately converge, and that is when a crucial question is born: Who has the right to distinguish between good from evil, just from unjust? What will happen when the masks inally fall and all will finally be in the open?

An exciting story, full of unexpected incidents, twists, and turns. A story of love, betrayal, revenge, and the execution of justice during the difficult days following the end of WW2.
