Parta Ola is a spinning dreidel game from Greece, traditionally played around the Christmas and New Year Holidays. This game can be enjoyed all year round since it’s great for parties and get-togethers and fun for the whole family. Best of all, you can play anywhere anytime, since the little dreidel fits in your pocket.
There is no limit to the number of players, but 5-6 players is recommended. First, determine the unit that you want to use (e.g. pennies, candies, beans etc.). Then to start the game, everyone places one unit in the middle. The first player spins, and follows the directions on the top side of the dreidel:
Play until you have a winner, or until a pre-determined number of turns have been taken. Have fun!
There is an endless number of variations of Parta Ola that you can enjoy. Simply replace the unit with whatever you can imagine, and transform the traditional game into something a little different!
