Marina tells her story one rainy afternoon when a rush of darkness falls over the city after a sudden storm. Back, on the island, a circle which doesn’t seem to want to close keeps her captive as time and space keep her dancing round and round in the same place The almond tree in her family home continues to stand Saturday, as if it is the centre of that circle, marking the centre of her world, blooming in the winter, and wilting in the summer.

From childhood scars through to the difficult coming of age, from the military Junta to the start of the new millennium, from Simi to Athens, every relationship and every sentiment, will be tried. They will experience distance, loss, and harsh winters. And when the almond tree manages to blossom again in January, then you will know that it will blossom and last forever….
