SYNOPSIS |

Time has passed like the flowing waters of the river.

Twenty years later, the house by the river holds out the bitterest cup for its five women. The end of an era is approaching…
The house by the river. It has always been there for Theodora, her five daughters, and their children. A haven of safety for them their entire lives. They vowed never to leave again. Never to separate. To face the challenges together. But they couldn’t keep their promises…
Twenty years later, does the river ultimately punish or teach? It flows incessantly, indifferent to joys and sorrows, and admires the house that remains standing on its banks… But for how much longer?

SYNOPSIS |

SYNOPSIS |

The matchmaking of Julia Venus with landlord Giorgikis Provios was set to be the greatest news and event of Larissa. But, after only a few years of marriage, their union ended with the bloody murder of her husband and their three-year-old daughter. Julia was sentenced to death. Choosing not to utter a single word and to remain silent, it looked as though the young woman had accepted her fate and, consequently, her guilt.

Six days before her execution, Alexandra Gika, a young journalist, tries to get an interview with her at Averoff Prison, where she is being held;

Through the narration of her story, the woman’s distant memories seem to wake her, as if from deep sleep, and take them back five years, to the post-war era in December 1949. Her story makes Alexandra, but also Julia, suspicious that there might be another side to the events, an explanation for what took place, and which may prove that Julia isn’t guilty. Time, however, is running out.

Cases, events, associations, decisions, and a race to prove Julia’s innocence, while clock ticks ticks ticks. The facts seem to justify every ray of optimism. The truth, however, has not made its final appearance…

SYNOPSIS |

Words are powerful. They have their own life. They may be numbered, incomplete, irrelevant, contested, unlucky, mysterious, sorrowful, extravagant, hazardous, and finally dangerous. Words may seem innocent, but they can be dangerous if we don’t come to terms with their meaning.

Myrsini and Atalante Koroneou are twin sisters, similar to one another, but their characters are absolutely unlike. From an early age, they choose the role of the good and the bad daughter and they sacrifice their love, replacing it with a strong hate. While they grow up, they get involved in a cruel race of extermination, making intemperate choices and experiencing the tragedy, until they accept the meaning of words as: family, undivided, jealousy, marriage, divorce, leaving, forgiveness.

A novel about the role of the family in our destiny, the limits of resilience, the lost innocence, the tragedies in our life, our survival. A novel about hope, love and forgiveness; Notions without any limits and boundaries…

SYNOPSIS |

A passionate, love song of Asia Minor, Mikrasia comes to my lips as a glistening blade gashes my throat. The dusky, coarse Ottoman’s hand brings Turkish words to my mind as madness and devastation surrounds me.

This passionate song turns into a heartbreaking elegy, while a hoarse, callous voice orders me to pray. I can feel my whole life pass before my sealed eyelids.

Our home in Fokaia, the massacre, the pursuit, the monastery, the slavery, freedom, Smyrna, Conia, Cappadocia, Aivali, Aidini, and my beloved Giannos, looking at me with tears in my eyes.

I don’t cry now, however, nor do I pray or beg. I just stand here – motionless – waiting for his blade to tear my flesh to shreds. I have nothing to fear.

A vivid novel that tells of the Asia Minor Catastrophe, of the Greeks’ flight from their homes, of destruction and hate, but also of love and friendship, of family and hope.

This is the story of Isidor the donkey that was born and raised in a small French Village, but ended up living in Greece where he became Isidoros!
